As you prepare to enter the password for the safe, you half expect that at any moment something will jump out at you from behind one of the artificial stalagmites, or will cascade down from the ceiling, but no such boobytraps are tripped.  You type the code TYPHON into the keypad on the safe and spin the giant handle, wondering if there has been a mistake with the password – could the Gate Keeper have misspelled the word typhoon? To your surprise, the password is correct as spelled and the heavy safe door swings open.

You peer into the safe, and to your dismay it seems you are still not finished – there is no key visible. Instead there is a small lockbox that, again, requires a passcode, as well as two more sheets of paper. One appears to be a torn-out page from your handbook. You look closer and see that the page is for a monster called Typhon - the password you had just thought was misspelled.  Not being a Greek mythology buff, you hadn't understood the significance of that word when you solved the last puzzle.

But reading this page, you realize why it was so apropos for the Gate Keeper’s final challenge: Typhon was the monster to end all monsters; a creature so fearsome it forced all the gods except Zeus to flee Olympus. Perhaps that is how the Gate Keeper views his final test – something that would make others flee. You feel your internal resolve strengthen. You are ready to be Zeus to the Gate Keeper’s Typhon and beat him at his own game.

You look at the other sheet, which you presume is the puzzle that will help you decipher the correct code for the lockbox.

Open the Safe envelope.
